AURUM collaborates with Bionatur,  the leading company for purifying polluting gases in southern Europe and is the only European company with manufacture its own filters, absorbents and catalyser. Our production lines are in Huesca(Spain) and our research laboratories and headquarters are in Barcelona-Spain. 

The fact that we are the manufacturer of our own filters, absorbents and extensive investment in R+D (more than 15 million euros) has made it possible for us to develop the best technology worldwide for removing polluting gases with several international patents. FILTERS

The filters are high-technology mobile filters developed by Bionatur to achieve the maximum capacity for removing pollutants. That is why Bionatur filters lead the market, by lasting longer and being more efficient than other purification systems. The system makes it possible for them to be changed when they are saturated, without the need for labour or handling, in less than 20 minutes. Our philosophy is to make it as easy as changing an ink cartridge in a printer when it is empty; it is removed and the new one inserted, quickly and easily.

  Inside the filters there are absorbents and catalysers that are manufactured and patented by Bionatur which have a much superior absorbance capacity to other conventional absorbents. The synergy of the Bionatur filters and high performance of our absorbents means that Bionatur is the most economical solution on the market but always with a total guarantee for results.

GAS PURIFICATION

VOCs

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are produced in many industrial fields, generally forming part of air fresheners, lacquers, paints and solvents. Among the most common we find perchloroethylene, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylene or chlorobenzene.

H2S

Hydrogen sulphide or sulphuric acid is an inflammable gas, which is colourless and toxic, whose odour is that of decomposing organic material. It is associated with processes such as water purification, the paper industry or biogas production.

SO2

Sulphur dioxide is the main cause of acid rain, since it turns into sulphuric acid in the atmosphere. It is released in many combustion processes since fuels such as coal, petrol, diesel or natural gas contain certain amounts of sulphur-bearing compounds.

Dioxins and Furans

Dioxins are characterised by their high toxic potential. In many cases they are produced as a result of burning plastics and chlorine products in urban waste incinerators, metal smelting, whitening paper pulp with chlorine or manufacture of some herbicides and pesticides among others.

HCL

Hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl). At room temperature hydrogen chloride is a light yellow, corrosive, non-flammable gas, heavier than air, with a strongly irritating smell. When exposed to air hydrogen chloride forms dense white-coloured corrosive vapours.

 

ABSORVENTS

 Bionatur has created chemical formulas and manufacture adsorbents, for eliminating different air pollutants.

The ativated carbon is porous carbon that traps compounds, mainly organic, present in a gas or a liquid. It does so with such effectiveness, that it is the purifying most used by the human being.

Organic compounds are derived from the metabolism of living beings, and their basic structure consists of chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms. Among them are all derivatives of the plant and animal world, including oil and the compounds that are obtained from it.

 To the property that has a solid of adhering to its walls a molecule that flows, it is called "adsorption". The solid is called "adsorbent" and the molecule, "adsorbate".

Coal can be activated by thermal or chemical processes. The thermal processes consist in causing a partial oxidation of the coal, to obtain that the pores form, but avoiding that it is gasified and more carbon is lost of the necessary one. This occurs at temperatures that are between 600 and 1100 ° C. Bionatur owns the only furnace that works at 1100 ° C in Europe capable of working coal in a controlled atmosphere, which is achieved by injecting an adequate amount of water vapor or nitrogen.

 The chemical processes start from the raw material before being carbonized. Reagents are dehydrating agents (such as phosphoric acid) that break the bonds that bind cellulose chains together. After this step, the material is carbonized at a relatively low temperature (about 550 ° C) and then washed to remove reagent and other by-products.

 The furnace in which a carbon is activated thermally or in which a carbon previously treated with a chemical is carbonized is rotary.
